 Have been watching Torchwood season 3. I definitely approve of action-hero Ianto. In work boots! All leaping around and getting muddy and bloody and stuff! Heee.

 I watched the Fantastic Four movie last night. I'd seen bits and pieces of it before, out of order. But I hadn't watched the whole thing from one end to the other. Never read the comic, or even heard of it. Never read a comic full stop. I was prepared to be impressed, but I didn't really have any expectations. I'm not really sure where to start with the unimpressedness. This is more or less one big blurt.

Bottom line, I don't exactly feel like I wasted 2+ hours of my life, but all in all it's not something I'd take the time to watch again.

 Just watched Jamie Bamber's Dollhouse episode. I think I may be in love. That's all for now.

I just got this crazy idea. There are plenty of crossover fics out there exploiting the fact that Jamie Bamber plays characters in both Hornblower and BSG. So we have Jamie Bamber in Law & Order UK now, alongside Freema Ageyman. She pops up in Dr. Who as well (and Torchwood, but anyway) and so does Paul McGann who is also in the Hornblower movies with Jamie Bamber. Clear as mud. The only snag is that I don't think in Dr. Who Martha was pretty well after Paul McGann's time, but its Dr. Who, they have time travel right? I can just imagine some great big cracktastic mess emerging out of that odd little triangle. Where Jamie Bamber spends most of his time with his shirt off. If only I could write. I may have to think about this some more.

I don't know why, but I'm a bit of sucker for fics that swap Archie and Horatio over.

I go to a dance club about once a week. And by that, I mean a club of people learning to dance, its not nearly as glamorous as it sounds but it is alot of fun. You're more likely to see someone drinking a cup of tea than anything alchoholic. But I digress. The names of the moves being taught that night get put on a whiteboard up the front. And last week one of them was called 'Archie'. I did a double take and my stomach did something weird when I actually registered it. I got all excited and hoped the move was really cool, but unfortunately it was actually pretty boring (but moderately difficult). *sigh* If there was a matching move called 'Horatio', that would just make my day. Probably my week.

This is rubbish, but I've gotten sick of messing around with it. If I post it then its done, right? Follows on from the first fic (if not chronologically) and the same disclaimers apply.

This is my new favourite fic. Ever. It just rings so true, and has the honour of being the first Hornblower fic that actually made me cry. Its sweet and its sad and it doesn't really have a happy ending, but you just know that in the end everything is okay. I haven't read the books, but from what I know about them, it does a pretty good job of reconciling book 'verse with movie 'verse. Read it.

Never Too Late

So, this being my first ever fic, the dumbest things are giving me grief. Like what to put at the start. And I knew I sucked at dialogue, but now realise I don't even know how to format it. Don't shoot me if I get it wrong, but guidance (and of course feedback) would be greatly appreciated.

And I know its really short, it didn't start out like that it just kept shrinking. I suppose its slightly AU, in my head its set in modern Britain, for several reasons some of which should become apparent.And the boys aren't mine, they belong to each other.

So, I've started this journal because I've gotten a little obsessed with the TV series/movies Horatio Hornblower. Particularly Horatio and Archie and Horatio/Archie. I've been reading a whole lot of fics and thinking about writing something myself, and even mucking around with writing a bit. But nothing has quite felt right. But then I got an idea that seemed to fit.

So this is a place where I can write those stories, and some of the other random thoughts I have floating around my head. If no one else ever reads any of it, fine. I seem to be at least two years to late for this particular fandom to be reasonably active, but my brain won't shut up. So, here goes.
